Resource title:TypeStats
Resource URL:http://www.applicationindex.com/typestats.html
Description:TypeStats creates special files called Snapshots which contain a list of names of files and folders, in hierarchical order, from any folder on any drive that you specify. As well as the names and extensions, file size, last modified date and file attributes are also collected. TypeStats can create many Snapshots and store them anywhere you specify, so that a collection of filenames and folders can be created. The main purpose of TypeStats is to then display that information in a more comprehensive manner than Windows Explorer does, by focusing on the types of files rather than the filenames themselves and providing extended statistics about those filetypes, such as the number of files of a certain type in a drive's folder (as represented by the Snapshot), as well as the total size of those files and the percentage of all represented data on the Snapshot that they take up, and the smallest, largest, oldest and newest of those files, all of which can be listed in ascending or descending order. TypeStats is thus named for this purpose TypeStats can also show folders in any order, which is useful when showing which folders have the most files, the biggest size of all files in a folder, the percentage of all represented data on the Snapshot that it takes up, the last modified date of the folder and the folder's attributes, all of which, again, can be listed in ascending or descending order. TypeStats can also show folders in any order, which is useful when showing which folders have the most files, the biggest size of all files in a folder, the percentage of all represented data on the Snapshot that it takes up, the last modified date of the folder and the folder's attributes, all of which, again, can be listed in ascending or descending order.
