Smart Bomb PC Shutdown is a power-off utility with intelligence. Beside from being able to turn off your PC after a period of time, it can monitor Internet activity and CPU usage in order to delay shutdown while any other processes are running in the background.
This utility is powered by three major components: a timer, a CPU sensor, and an Internet transfer sensor. No shutdown will occur until the time set with the timer is up. After the set time runs out, the sensors (if selected) begin their work. You are able to set the minimum level of CPU workload and the time during which no Internet connections should be active in order for shutdown to proceed.
Here are some key features of \"Smart Bomb PC Shutdown\":
· CPU sensor is useful if your computer has some heavy-duty multimedia work to do and you are not sure about how long it is going to take. You can simply set the timer to a few minutes and then the computer will not shut off until CPU stays idle for about 15 seconds. \'Idle\' here means that the CPU activity has
to be lower than the percentage value you specify as the CPU threshold. It is highly recommended that you use a high CPU load value, in the range of 60%. With intense multimedia applications the load is usually 100%, no matter how fast the processor is. So anything below that level is a safe bet. This also opens up the possibility of using many content creation tools at once. With the CPU sensor, the PC will stay on for as long as any of the applications are busy doing the work.
· Internet sensor will keep the PC alive while any downloads, uploads, or other types of Net communication are in progress. This sensor can be used with the CPU sensor simultaneously as the system will not shut off while any of the sensors are active. You can configure the amount of time after which Internet is considered idle.
· When your PC crunches serious numbers doing multimedia work, every CPU cycle can be precious, especially when doing work on less than fast machines. CPU Saver feature automatically disables CPU and Web activity graphical history when the clock time has not run out and when the program is minimized. Normally, the visual statistics are not a power hog - the program has been designed to keep its resources to a minimum.
